Students Receiving Tuition Waivers

As part of its commitment to rural areas of the Sudan, the Ahfad University for Women waives tuition for a large number of qualified young women. Costs of these waivers, which are the equivalent of scholarships, are covered by the University itself and by other organizations, such as the Sudanese Council of Churches.

The following tables provide the total for all students receiving tuition waivers in the current academic year and details for students from three areas of the Sudan — Darfur, Southern and Eastern regions. Students receiving tuition waivers from the three regions represent about 20% of the AUW student body. Total enrollment is just over 5,000 students.
